The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is a key component of the UK Government’s Climate Change Bill, requiring organisations with an annual energy consumption of around 6,000MWh/yr, or £500k annual spend to report their energy related carbon emissions.
Organisations within the CRC scheme will have to purchase allowances to cover their emissions, set initially at £12/tonne CO2 with all payments recycled among participating organisations according to their place in a performance league table.
Greenstone’s Carbon Consultants will work with your organisation to understand the requirements of the CRC, ensure the required data and supporting documentation are identified, calculate a baseline measurement using our Acco2unt solution and develop an ongoing CRC strategy.
For companies that are new to CRC and not sure of their exposure and required actions Greenstone has a CRC Readiness Assessment service which helps organisations to understand their potential exposure under the CRC scheme.
Greenstone’s Acco2unt software solution can also help reporting entities through the CRC reporting process. Acco2unt enables organisations to record energy consumption from a range of sources across the scope of their business operations, manipulate that information to ensure the most cost-effective compliance with the CRC, and automatically generate the required reports to demonstrate compliance. Additionally, Acco2unt is being further developed in synchronisation with the first round of compliance and reporting requirements to enhance the ease of use.
Through driving efficiencies in the measurement of emissions and their reporting, Acco2unt can help reporting entities reduce their risk exposure due to the CRC, and make the most of the opportunities it offers.
