Marcus was the founder Chief Executive of HSBC Private Bank (UK) for over 16 years where he remained as Deputy Chairman until Autumn 2007.

Prior to becoming a private banker he spent 12 years with Manufacturers Hanover in London and New York, five years with Vickers, da Costa stockbrokers and qualified as a solicitor with Biddle & Co. Marcus also holds a number of external advisory appointments.
