Kevin is currently the Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, Energy & Climate Change Programme.

Kevin was responsible for developing the climate change research programme within the centre for Aviation, Transport and the Environment at Manchester University. As Director of the programme at Tyndall, Kevin is focused on working on carbon reduction instruments and the construction of demand for aviation. Kevin has lead-authored major reports for this area including Decarbonising the UK: energy for a climate conscious future for which he also provided the keynote paper and Reconciling Aviation Growth with the 60% carbon-reduction target. He has also been widely engaged in climate change activities with Government and various public platforms and was particularly involved in Kyoto negotiations with both Russia and New Zealand. Prior to his academic work Kevin gained 12 years industrial experience working for Marathon Oil, Hamilton Oil/BHP and P&O shipping.
