David Armstrong has run Transtech Consultancy Services, a consultancy company dedicated to vehicle fleet management and physical distribution management, for more than 20 years. The identification and mitigation of the environmental impact of vehicle operations has been a key part of this work since 1991.

Clients include large and small private sector companies, as well as central and local government, the emergency services, and utilities. Fleets operated range from cars through vans to maximum GVW lorries, and include specialist vehicles.

His previous experience included responsibility for marketing, sales and after-sales for a major diesel engine company, as well as running a software company serving major fleet operators.

He has a Natural Science degree from Cambridge, and wide international experience.
